# Matchly — Quiz & Forms Builder

_Recommend products and capture leads with quizzes and forms_

Build a quiz or a form, map each answer to products, tags or collections, and shoppers land on a result page picked for them — with the emails, names and phone numbers you asked for along the way.

## A big catalogue is not a helpful catalogue

Shoppers who cannot tell two products apart do not pick one — they leave. A quiz turns browsing into a short conversation that ends on a product page.

- **Forty near-identical products and no way to choose** → Five questions that narrow it down to the three that actually fit
- **A collection page is the same for everyone who lands on it** → A result page assembled from the answers this shopper just gave
- **Newsletter pop-ups that interrupt before anyone knows what you sell** → Email, name and phone fields asked mid-quiz, once the shopper is invested
- **No idea whether the quiz sold anything** → Paid orders attributed back to the response that produced them

## What you can build

A visual builder for the questions, a matching engine for the answers, and a result page you control.

- **Eight question and field types**: Single choice, picture choice, yes/no, text input, slider, plus email, name and phone fields. Group several onto one page when they belong together.
- **Branching**: Any answer can send the shopper to a specific next question, so one quiz can serve paths that have nothing in common.
- **Answer-to-product mapping**: Map an answer to product tags, whole collections, hand-picked products, or numeric weights that rank the catalogue by score.
- **Outcome rules**: Deterministic rules on top of the scoring: pin a product, boost it, exclude it, or force a result set when a combination of answers is chosen.
- **Explained recommendations**: Attach a reason to an answer or a rule and the result page can tell the shopper why each product was picked for them.
- **Four result layouts**: Grid, list, carousel or a swipe deck. Optional share link and an “add all and check out” button.
- **Lead capture**: Ask for an email, a name or a phone number before or after the results, with your own consent wording, and get an email when a submission lands.
- **Views, completions, revenue**: Per-quiz and store-wide analytics, with revenue attributed from paid orders back to the response that produced them.

## From template to storefront

Start from one of nine ready-made quizzes, or from a blank one.

- **Build the questions**: Drag questions into order, add options with images, and branch where the paths diverge. Preview it as you go.
- **Map the answers to products**: Tags, collections, specific products or per-product weights. Add outcome rules where you want a specific combination to land somewhere specific.
- **Publish it where shoppers are**: A theme block inside a page, a popup, a floating button, or a standalone quiz page on your own domain. Nothing is pasted into theme code.
- **Read the results**: Every response is stored with the answers behind it. Analytics show views, completions, conversions and the revenue they turned into.

## By the numbers

- **9** — starter quiz templates
- **8** — question and field types
- **4** — result page layouts
- **4** — outcome rule effects

## What merchants build with it

The bundled templates come from the categories where a quiz does the most work.

- **Skincare and haircare routines**: Skin type, concern, budget — then the routine, not the whole shelf. Two of the bundled templates cover exactly this.
- **Supplements and pet nutrition**: Goal, diet, age and size questions that end on a shortlist a shopper can trust rather than a filtered grid.
- **Fashion, jewellery and home decor**: Style, fit, palette and budget. Picture-choice questions do the work that text descriptions cannot.
- **Lead capture forms**: Contact fields, a slider, a text input and no product mapping at all — a form that stores responses and emails you when one arrives.

## One plan, everything in it

- **Basic** — 4 USD/month. 3-day free trial. $40 a year if you pay annually, which saves 17%.

## Questions merchants ask

### Do I have to edit my theme?

No. Matchly ships a theme app extension, so you add the quiz from the theme editor like any other app block — inline in a page, as a popup, or as a floating button. There is also a standalone quiz page served on your own domain, which needs no theme change at all.

### How does it decide which products to recommend?

Each answer can carry product tags, collection IDs, specific products and numeric weights. When a shopper submits, those are combined into a score across your live catalogue, and any outcome rules you have written are applied on top — pinning, boosting, excluding or forcing a specific set.

### What happens when nothing matches?

You choose per quiz. Strict shows only genuine matches and an empty state if there are none; mix and match fills the gaps with your best sellers; manual shows fallback products you pick yourself.

### Can I use it as a plain form, without recommendations?

Yes. Email, name and phone fields, text inputs and sliders all work without any product mapping. Responses are stored with every answer, and you can have an email sent to your team whenever one is submitted.

### Can I tell whether the quiz actually sold anything?

Yes. The quiz tags the cart, and when the order is paid Shopify's webhook attributes it back to that response. Analytics show views, completions, conversions and attributed revenue per quiz.

### What does it cost?

One plan at $4 a month, or $40 a year, after a 3-day free trial. There is no free tier and no separate charge per response — billing runs through Shopify and you can cancel from your admin.
